eppan Abuja 2015 (145)

The E-Government Summit formerly called the E-Payment for Government Summit is an initiative of the E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN).

It is designed to bring decision makers and thought leaders in the private and public sector on a single platform to discuss, network and set programmable agenda that will yield quantum result for sustainable economic development.  Our overarching goal for this Summit is to set the agenda for e-government. The summit has held four consecutive successful editions.

Our focus for this year’s summit stems from the latest report on IGR which revealed that there has been a 3.65 % drop in IGR from the 36 states of the federation and 15 states may go bankrupt and may not be able to stay afloat outside the federal government account allocation due to lack of foresight in revenue generation drive.

Our objectives and deliverables are therefore designed to proffer solutions and proactive measures for government to generate and increase IGR using smart solutions while achieving transparency and accountability.

The Objectives of the Summit:

  • To demonstrate the effectiveness of smart solutions /ICT and its capacity to increase and generate IGR
  • To explore the opportunities for shared infrastructure and inter-operability in the public sector to enable reduction in cost of governance
  • To leverage on ICT for enhanced data management and security
  • To drive financial inclusion through enhanced payment systems
